Thank you for shining a spotlight on this development, Sen. Lenney.

The COVID scamdemic started us down the slippery slope with remote learning and hands-off teaching. Now, they want to take it to the next level with AI. Soon, humans won’t know how to interact with other humans — perhaps that’s the intent!

We should be careful what we wish for as we eye all the shiny baubles!. AI will have many unintended consequences everywhere it is used, and education is no exception. Not to mention the huge drain on our power and water to drive these fake teachers.

With AI guiding our kids, why do we need teachers at all? They get good pay and benefits, special training to boost their students scores, unions that negotiate all kinds of goodies, days off, and more. Why are taxpayers footing the bill for human teachers if they are being replaced with AI? No, the AI takeover won’t stop at reading. It’s just the opening salvo.

The rush to AI is all the more reason to encourage home schooling by actual human parents or other responsible adults who truly care about the kid in front of them (and, no, plopping the kids in front of computers to learn by themselves at home doesn’t count).

It’s too bad that Idahoans didn’t choose a truly dedicated person — Branden Durst — who ran in the 2022 Republican primaries against Debbie Critchfield. Here’s an interview with him: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/branden-durst-candidate-for-idaho-state-superintendent/id1594650752?i=1000557502749

The lies and smears probably did Mr. Durst in. Yes, he’s a former Democrat, but he explains all that in this and other interviews you can find on Apple podcasts. We truly believe he would have been a better person for the job. With five kids of his own, he had skin in the game. (Durst kindly took the time to talk with us by phone before the elections and answered all our questions forthrightly and to our satisfaction.)

Resist the ROBOTS, please! Superintendent Critchfield — please reconsider your decision.

Absolutely NOT. Homeschool your children. Sincerely, a retired teacher, 22 year teaching career.
