Fellow Idahoans, mark this moment: we’ve just passed House Bill 135 out of committee with resounding conviction—a decisive step to safeguard our state’s resources.
This bill rightfully terminates welfare benefits for illegal immigrants, ensuring that the hard-earned dollars of our citizens no longer fund those who bypass our laws.
Why should Idaho play host to those who flout our borders, draining public coffers while honest taxpayers bear the burden?
The answer is clear: we shouldn’t, and now we won’t. This is a triumph of principle over pandering, and I’m proud to see our state lead with such resolve.
I’ll leave you with the wise words of Pat Buchanan from his masterpiece, “The Death of the West”:
“Uncontrolled immigration threatens to deconstruct the nation we grew up in and convert it into a conglomeration of peoples with almost nothing in common—not history, heroes, language, culture, faith, or ancestors.
The flood of illegal aliens pouring across our borders is not a wave of refugees fleeing persecution but an army of economic opportunists, some of whom carry with them the seeds of social chaos.”
