Gotta say I'm not surprised about NNU. Have some friends and acquaintances who went there. Heard it was liberal/woke. Then I heard about a Professor who also goes to a woke church who was kicked out of the Nazarene org. Yes, here in Nampa.
I live in your district and disagree with your opinion on this. The launch program is a good step in the right direction for increased funding for education past 12 grades. Also your efforts to take away freedoms by controlling diversity etc. is wrong.
Brian. I do agree with you somewhat. The DEI woke stuff has gone to far but you and your team are going to far in the opposite direction. We need moderate solutions. Do support the West ADA school districts telling the teacher to remove the banner that all are welcome in her classroom?
and of course more in the OT that 🎨 the picture. We know (partly) what was happening in the town that Lot lived in. Those people were judged by God. HE IS THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE.
These are the kinds of days we live in, currently!
And yesterday, at the Pride event in Nampa there was a Drag Queen Story where the parents were encouraged to bring their children up to sit close. Enough said.
A year or so ago I was talking to someone and they were telling me about the experience of their college student here in Idaho. I was astounded by the LGBTQ etc . . . garbage being espoused at their student's college. When I asked what institution it was, imagine my surprise when I learned that it was Northwest Nazarene! So, it comes as not too much of a surprise -- but it is still very sad.
Honestly, when you think about it, it clearly shows the degradation our entire society has gone through. There's not much today that has remained pristine, "normal" or unadulterated, I am sorry to say.
We used to live (for 8 years) in Eastern WA and back in 2010 they were having Drag Queen Story Hour at a local Spokane Library. We were aghast, at the time -- it was LONG before what has happened in Boise. Now, it seems to be an everyday thing.
Our Nation needs an "awakening" or some kind of revival. America WAS great, because America WAS good. . . not so much anymore.
What Brian has so lovingly failed to mention is that all of these photos were taken in one very specific area in a secluded corner of NNU’s campus, in a display case that highlights a theme each month from Black History Month to yup, Pride -sincerely an NNU student who has classes on this floor

I respectfully ask that Jesus not be included in this conversation. It's not appropriate to associate His teachings with discussions of far-right nationalism. This tone of rhetoric doesn’t reflect the Idaho I know and love. Rather, it seems more reflective of the culture promoted by the Idaho Freedom Foundation and some recent transplants to our state who have introduced divisive attitudes and an excessive focus on how others choose to live their lives.
I was under the impression that the party stood for individual freedom and limited government. Yet, the most recent legislative session—one in which you played a significant role—was among the most intrusive Idaho has ever experienced. That’s not a record to celebrate.
If we’re truly concerned about what’s perverse in our society, perhaps we should consider whether an ongoing obsession with other people's private lives fits that definition. Instead of focusing on social control, I urge you to concentrate on policy that genuinely improves the quality of life for all Idahoans.
Let’s return to the values of respect, liberty, and effective governance that have long defined our state.
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea” (Matthew 18:6, ESV).
I appreciate that you’re taking Scripture seriously—But using this verse to marginalize or condemn LGBTQIA+ people misrepresents both the heart of Christ and the intent of this passage. And many use scripture to justify their claim to power and oppression, just like the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Priests of Jesus' day.
When Jesus warned about “causing one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble,” He was defending the vulnerable, not giving license to target them. The "little ones" are often understood to be children, yes—but also the humble, the marginalized, those easily dismissed by religious systems. LGBTQIA+ people—especially those of faith—have often been among those vulnerable ones, rejected not for wrongdoing, but for simply being who they are.
To claim that LGBTQIA+ people or the institutions that show up for them are the ones causing others to stumble—just by existing or expressing themselves—is a grave misreading. It's often not LGBTQIA+ people who are causing harm; it's the rejection, shame, and exclusion they face in religious spaces that leads to deep spiritual and emotional wounds. That’s the kind of stumbling Jesus was warning us not to cause.
If we take Jesus seriously here, our first concern should be this: Are we the ones doing harm to others' faith or well-being? Are we turning people away from God by misusing His words to condemn rather than to heal?
That's my name. I'd love to see more complete sentences in discourse, at the very least. Education suffers in Idaho, and it's pretty clear in some circles.
Please answer! Let’s bring back civilized, intelligent discourse in our legislature. We are not interested in the masses of demagogues who are following blindly to false ideals.
I’ve listened to the discourse, sat in the chambers, and attended committee meetings. Honestly, there’s a lot of banter, bullying, and a clear lack of decorum. Stating things like “I’ve had a blast” while stripping basic needs from families is neither professional nor civilized.
I’ve also heard from members of your own body that the lack of cooperation and decorum is absolutely changed for the worse—- many of the new legislators aren’t even from Idaho, including you. That doesn’t reflect the Idaho way. The Idaho way is to leave people alone, to be honest, and to be a good neighbor.
As for the em dash—I can use it just fine here or in Google Docs when crafting messages. I’m not sure why this is even an issue.
Regarding the "+"—I respect how anyone chooses to identify themselves. Again, the Idaho way is to leave people alone. I’m only here to respectfully ask how this false ideal of Christianity has become so deeply woven into our politics. It’s not right, it’s not moral, and it’s certainly not Christian. What’s happening is the use of religion as a tool to keep people down.
I’m unclear what waving the flag of fornication and abomination does stubble means—
Also, It’s IMPOSSIBLE not to sin. That’s the whole purpose of Christ’s Atonement, right? Do you believe what Christ said he would do? Why would Jesus say that if he knew what would come later. He saved her from condemnation of the self-righteous, which is what we are seeing today. He offers her a path towards a better life, and does not condemn her. The irony of this whole thread is almost laughable, but mostly really sad.
I want to ask someone using Christianity in the wrong way to exclude Jesus out of the conversation of using false power to keep people down. That’s not Jesus—he preached radical love, and was against the rule followers, the judgemental, and close-minded of the day.
Keep up the fight, Brian.
that's the plan

You need to learn how to read the room, Steve. Americans are done with woke socialist DEI malarkey.

My team?
I consider you as a more conservative republican. Maybe “team” was wrong word since you sometimes disagree with others in the party.
Did the Senator answer your question?

I emailed The Church of the Nazarene (the org) on this topic.
I wonder if NNU has this book in their library.
They should, hopefully!

You were reading my mind Debra! It’s a really good read and shows the depth of how far someone can go from God and be brought back to the fold.
Yes! Have you also seen some of Laura's videos!? Her testimony is so amazing.
I first heard her being interviewed for Pilgrim Radio and that prompted me to buy her book.
Debra are you in the Boise area? Melody and I are in Garden Valley… Tewrrace Lakes

Yep, sad indeed.

That doesn't change anything I wrote in the post. It's irrelevant.
So you're saying you disagree with making all feel welcome?
How'd you come to that conclusion?
It’s the obvious conclusion based on your “article”. If you can’t see that, then I’m not quite sure why you wrote it.
No, what you said is called a non-sequitur, Jackson.

What does the + stand for there? And, how do you type these: — (??) or does A.I. do that for you?
😂 Definitely sounds like “Tasha” loves her Chatgpt.

I tried using dash dash dash and just got this ---
What does the + stand for in your acronymn?
Please answer!
Also, we have TONS of civilized, intelligent discourse in our legislature. Check out my YouTube to see some of the best:

True healing is FOUND IN JESUS. Waving the flag of fornication and abomination does stubble. The bible is really clear
Jesus said, "Go and sin no more"
Be convicted.
Be zealous therefore and repent (if you really think you're a Christian you need to James 4: 7 and 1 John 1:9 your life)
I’m unclear what waving the flag of fornication and abomination does stubble means—

The topic is a so called Christian school... And YOU WANT TO KEEP JESUS OUT OF THE CONVERSATION!!?? WHAT
